HELLO!

My name is Emily DeMarchi and I’m an illustrator based in Kansas City, MO.

From a very young age, I grew up in a household of animals and often found myself assigning stories to lives I believed they lived apart from my family and I. Still today, much of my work is inspired by the natural world and the fantastical moments we may never see.

My work is grounded in narrative storytelling; I am always yearning for stories. The complexities of personal relationships or the mysteries of nature often spark my thinking that eventually leads to the marks I make on paper. Being able to share the process of thoughts to images, back to someone else’s eyes and mind is what excites me the most; the promise of connection through pictures and story is what drives my thinking and my work.
